Our Mission Beyond London

Global Outreach

Global Outreach (GO) exists to fulfill the mission of West Park Church to expand God’s kingdom, in God’s power, by making disciples, planting and equipping local churches, and practically demonstrating the love of God in areas beyond our local mission.

Vision

  • Increase the participation of our people in West Park’s GO initiatives so they are intelligently informed, joyfully giving, and faithfully praying.

  • Focus our support.

  • Finance, to a significant level, a manageable number of global partners (missionaries).

  • Identify WestPark members who should be encouraged, equipped, sent, and supported significantly as our first priority global partners.

Focus

  • Church planting and church equipping.

  • Support ministries, compassion and development, and short-term missions that seek to plant, build, and work alongside local churches.

Priority Areas

  • Canada – Quebec, First Nations, various ethnic groups, post-secondary, and secondary schools.

  • The 10/40 window.

  • Unreached people groups.

  • Areas at risk.

  • Fruitful areas around the globe.

Financial Support

  • Our church leadership is committed to maintaining or increasing our level of financial support to each of our global partners, at least during each term of service, through the West Park Church budget. Our GO Team makes annual recommendations regarding who should be supported and at what levels. Our congregation is encouraged to give sacrificially to provide funding for our global partners.

Prayer Support

  • Our congregation is encouraged to pray regularly for our global partners.  A West Park Prayer Guide is provided each month, which includes prayer items and praise reports from our global partners. Global partner mail files (at the end of our church mail file system) contain update letters and prayer cards.

Cuba Partnership

  • Why have a partnership globally?

    • As a local church we have a mandate to serve Globally

    • We need to use whatever resources we have to strengthen and encourage the global church

    • West Park would benefit greatly by learning from our global partners

  • Why Cuba?​

    • There is need for good training for their leaders

    • When a Canadian comes, it is an encouragements and blessing to the Cuban church (draws a crowd and encourages the leaders)

    • Cuba is less expensive than other places to travel to

    • We have a Global Partner (Dave Hunt) working with the Cuban church

    • We can bring items/supplies with us and leave it there

    • There is revival happening there​

  • Goals of a partnership with Cuba​...

    • To listen and learn about the Cuban people, history, church, culture, needs, and what God has been doing there through Victor

    • Partner with the children’s ministry by helping to run a VBS

    • Make an investment in Victor’s church by doing leadership training with his leaders

    • Partner with the men’s ministry by helping to run a men’s retreat for believers and non-believers

  • To continue to develop our partnership with pastor Victor and his church which is called Templo Bautista by building relationship and encouraging them and coming alongside them in a humble, supportive, serving way.
